Anne Lagerwall

Bio:
Anne Lagerwall is a professor of international law at the Université libre de Bruxelles and the director of the Center for International Law in that university. She is the co-editor-in-chief of the Belgian Review of International Law. Her research focuses on the law related to international peace and security (prohibition to resort to force, duty not to recognize a situation deriving from an unlawful military intervention, respect for human rights in occupied territories, immunities in the case of international crimes). She also articulates analyses of these rules inspired by critical approaches to international law, which tend to reveal the power structures underlying the creation and application of international law.
